and give an impression
that what you are doing
is what people need
some want a dog
not a peculiar breed
just a dog they can love
and kind of succeed
with sharing a family
and watching it grow
to be valued and loved
and to be in the flow
others its true want
a great pedigree
so they go on the internet
independently
these puppy mill people
are full on and they
will hire houses here there
and everywhere, say
you want a poodle
well they know and they
will reduce the price
but honest its best
if inside you you say
I just want a rescue dog
I want to save
a life give some joy
and obviously stave
off the day when the animals
may have to die
the more who get dogs
from this source
we shall see
truthfully more joy
and that’s how it should be

The problem is out in Eastern Europe
in some forest place
that doesn’t have planning laws
its a disgrace
a farm full of pups being kept
in the dark being fed very poorly
being cramped up and stark
all sorts of diseases in these places
are rife
its the loveless environment
and extra strife

often they come in to the country
by car
a long trip no attention
as to where they are
a local house
and a women who might say
they were all bred at home
or I need cash today
prepare for forged documents
that will be done
and the pup may be sick
its rarely they’ve none#
fleas ticks and lice
all of that and neglect
really when buying
be more circumspect

back in the dark woods
these places exist
in the forests some times
they hide in the mist
filthy conditions
untrained personnel
who literally turn life
for them into Hell
they suffer in silence
and many die
they don’t have a clue
and don’t care
just apply
do ad’s in the magazines
and on the net
tell their lies
bring the guys
and every things set

what we have to do
is see through the scam
go to a shelter
and bloody well slam
these mills and the owners
and make sure that we
don’t get ripped off
by them make them history

the animals suffer there
now terribly
not fed at all
or regularly
all crammed together
no where to run
filthy conditions
these place just shun

how they are let to run
I do not know
they may be unofficial
no licence to show
really no idea
how to keep pets
just how to make money
and build up cash debts

Craigs List and other sites
are taken in
people go to them
imagining
that the good price
cuts out the shop
really its not like this
and we must stop

puppy mills spring up
to catch people and
scarper like crazy
we understand
now and must stay away
if it sounds dodgy it is
right away
so take a deep breath
and just walk away
