Caged so time to think

You have to be a philosopher
to live with you lot who
know all about the world
and really nothing that you do
is good for our shared planet
you chop down all the trees
and we the great Arborial clan
need them if you please
so if you want to help us
and many of you do
leave the trees to grow
they make for a lovely view
and lots of souls live on them
and around them so its right
to leave them where they were planted
where they develop might

I sit here feeling so provoked
and angry at you all
as all around the crushing sounds
of machinery does call
on our deep emotions
for all these mechanical saws
cut deep into our being
and get the big applause

the forests need the energy
based on age old rules
the principles of steadiness
and there are various schools
of thought based on such thinking
but clearly we must see
that what ever happens to our forests
won’t end up happening to me
