The howling

They do not come across
as happy
to me they seem aloof
their howling
has a whining note
of course I have no proof
its just a wired up sanctuary
should it offer more
that then wilderness
where hunters are
but can the wolves explore
this wilful possibility
probably not I guess
but its hardly a symphony
more a brief account of less
I suppose I could be wrong here
and the howling is to see
the healing going on in them
but somehow I can’t free
myself from thinking how I did
that they would choose to run
the gambit with the hunters
underneath the sun
