Roll Right ( the stones those ancient stones)

An idyll
near a sea of sound
cars apparently
so abound
but through the gates
into a place
where a ring of stones
just drop the pace
lichens dance to
a harmony
wind swept crags
a symphony
sounds quietly
as the wind descends
and you feel
you are with the nicest friends
we sat together
C and I
and little L
was on a high
drumming softly
as whispering breeze
touched our souls
which so did please
Roll rights past
in feelings cast
as we took on our roles
of a buddy
of a witness
where the ancient brethren strolls
across the fields of golden grain
an expectancy and hope
a transformation
in ourselves
the tiger and the slope
these monuments in stone
have stood
through centuries of eyes
imagining the spirit
the togetherness of the wise
the sentiment of valour
the warmth within what we
engendered in our being
that sweet ring of constancy
