There was a time when Canada’s baby seals were killed by employed louts with sticks now it is a 14 year old child with a high powered rifle called Kennedy ( how times have changed)

approaches 50 years
what does, the world see
a 14 year old Kennedy
grand daughter of the late
Robert F out killing seals
at an alarming rate

a high powered rife
pointed at weak and baby seals
pull the trigger off goes the bullet
no prizes on how it feels
when a bullet slams into you
and tears your heart away
once again Canada shows us all,
what it does today

she’s been taught to identify
those seals who are too
weak
and has become an assassin
for me some sort of freak
and talking of local fisheries
and trappers
who are out there
killing wild life
that is what they do
and call it care!

I can’t believe its happening
but Canada seems to me
to be a vile an unfair nation
that kills incessantly
it bludgeons baby seals
and has been doing that for years
and selling their pelts to the fur trade
despite so many tears
around the world
the carnage, goes on and on and on
and now they enlist a Kennedy
a child,
the world has gone
bonkers killing Nature
is a pastime many do
in the name of protecting fish stocks!
