Fallujah

Cluster bombs white phosphorus
and God knows what besides
Depleted Uranium
they had been making strides
the fight now for Fallujah
was filled with shock and awe
weaponry was used that probably hadn’t been
used before

not in a city context
with civilians everywhere
of course there were insurgents
but children still did share
the houses streets and centres
and the anger a roundabout
was evidenced by the numbers killed
there wasn’t any doubt

the fallout was so serious
the weapons that were used
could so affect just everywhere
nothing was refused
and since the fall has happened
deformities have seen
a massive rise in numbers
it was and is obscene

families have been notified
not now to conceive
pollution is still rampant
worse than most believe
and still the abnormalities
are rising by the day
some are giving birth
to monsters
so this is how they pay

Fallujah got a pasting
America did throw
everything at this small place
the streets were seen to glow
so many people lost their lives
their homes they lost it all
and still their losing lives alas
and the figures do not fall
