Wolves and their destiny

To remove the wolf from the endangered species
list
just has to be
a step too far from what is
truly a reality
its a great cloak of unconsciousness
a prejudice towards
a soul that plainly lives
and dies at the peril of crossed swords

A bold and valiant spirit
their willingness to learn
to work at almost every facet
and whose heart does surely yearn
for the freedom of the wilderness
to run like no one does
to feel the warm sun on their backs
which gives them all that buzz
to remove them from the endangered list
shows a scant respect for all
the Natural World, in which we’re hurled
and of course the wolf’s rich call

to do away with such a perfect specimen
would be
sacrilege before the moon
a total travesty
as humane individuals we must cherish them
for they
offer the true balance
and the flow of night and day
the wolves are really priceless
and to slaughter them at will
in essence is to truthfulness
our own freedom to kill.
