Science v Politics Indigenous peoples and Animal Earthlings and Earth Warriors

Congressman from the house of representatives
elected members serving as they do
what have they to give to animal earthlings
that is heartfelt and is becoming to the wider view
that many have around this present problem
habitat loss is serious and so we
know it to be pertinent for all of us
but none so serious as those now who be
out there in the wilds known as the wilderness
the forests and the countryside, we share
they have roamed for centuries
living off the land
knowledgeable and instinctively aware

by their very being, we are culpable
for they live, where they were born
it is their place
creation put them there and there
they stay and live their lives
the great and mighty
gave them his true grace

we are powerful, walking upright
we can see
over the expanse of time
across the widest sea
we travel we unravel the secrets
and we feel
we have the right
to muscle in and usurp
what does appeal

and so we create conflict
building ranchers
homes and towns, and we
explode into environments
the corporate world is at it
pulling down and tearing constantly
forests,mountain areas are exploited
jungles deserts everywhere we go
and what of the indigenous who live there
the earthlings who have always shared the flow

they are pushed back further from their birthplace
back and back they go until they reach
a no man’s land and still we want so much of that
our selfishness it takes us to the breach
we start to see and feel the sense and purpose
but we discard that thought and battle on
what we want is what we want and others have to realise
their habitat they came to love is gone

this is where we err and we forget that we must share
the animals earthlings are created and they must stay where
they are for that’s their modus operandi, so to say
we have the flexibility to not get in their way
but we are lewd in many ways and selfish for what we
do is hunt them, trap them, slaughter them and see
anyway to conjure up some reason so that we
can steal the land, the land that’s there’s
and they need desperately

our ploy to lobby congressmen
and promise them the earth
dig into our pockets
try to increase their girth
give them money so as
to help them see our needs
and they just might then vote the way
we think
just share our seeds

the grey wolf lives and dies
as other wolves do and needs his space
sharing it we all can share
but for the human race
its hard to share the riches
that creation put before
all of us, for what we do
is just want more and more

the animal earthling is not like this
instinct is his law
selflessness is his quality
it reaches from his core
his values are abundant
and he manages his life
he faces joy and loving
and extreme forms of strife

what we now are seeing is the strife
that we have caused
habitats are dwindling
we simply haven’t paused
our growth and greed
explodes in almost every place on earth
and the guardians are suffering
for we fail to see their worth

the wheel of life is turning
we all are cogs that drive
this great machine of learning
is how we all survive
each earthling has its place
and we must understand
every inch of everywhere
is of course, shared land

the insects and the reptiles
and the carnivores we know
every living specimen
that’s born that lives to grow
each sacred incarnation
each physical desire
is all part of the whole
and there’s are no thoughts that are higher

getting congressmen to vote
out earthlings as we do
is tantamount to such unfairness
and such imbalance through
our lack of understanding
our corruption in a sense
of all we should hold dearly
its is our shared recompense

so we must not go down that evil road
into the sinful where
we kill off other species
those with whom we share
creation accounts for everything
we all must play our part
be part of the eco system
ruled now from our heart

our pockets and our cheque accounts
are paper from the trees
nothing really tangible
scattered on the breeze
riches what are riches
when life has ebbed away
we must learn to respect
all earthlings
and enjoy each day
