Child like monkeys
wearing masks
performing tricks
and other tasks
on Jakarta’s streets
for men who sit
cross legged watching all that wit
a child’s face on a monkey
does
give some tourists such a buzz
and this is how they earn their cash
but the monkeys are treated
like so much
trash
instead of in some jungle they
are slaves now working night and day
exploitation that’s the name
of the jakarta begging game
