Hunting may very well be passed its sell by date

To kill another member of a species,
the only word for this is Murder
that’s the word in fact, to use,
trapping it, and torturing it
and injuring it
for fun, for sport, and for whatever,
is bad news.

abuse is what it is
and some call that, Hunting
we need, to conserve and so
we put them down
leave behind perhaps their tiny
children
a partner
or some other family members
who then will grieve and in their solace
drown

killing off a parent may consign
the youngsters to
a crippling first few months of life
and maybe
broken hearted they may die
or starve, it happens often
as in their beds they lie
the parent or those able
are killed unfortunately
the lesser experienced youngsters
then die a tragedy

truly this is a really vile and a nasty
thing to do
encouraging our children to
to want to now imbue
and desire this way of life
to become hunters as their right
go out in the forest with a rifle
and slaughter just
whatever comes in sight

a buck or bear whatever
makes no difference
a lack of true concern
I know to be
a step really in the wrong direction
hunting nowadays really shouldn’t be
now we have supplies of food
and do not
have to go and kill the wild life
we
have vast amounts of food
in supermarkets
to go and kill yet more
is a tragedy

and trapping them and leaving vile contraptions
all around the place
to catch whatever stumbles by
its tortured,its badly injured
and from those direst injuries
even then the poor thing
may not die
and then we must dispatch
it with a bullet or our boot
to me again this is
a grim experience
subjecting our young people
to such terrible events
it really reaches down into to their root

conflict and fear
children do not need this
impressionable
their psyche
it should be
calm and thus appreciating
life and all its magic
creation all that nature
and much less of the evil
that we see

not subject them to
the murder and the mayhem
a single incident
can stay for years
worrying them creating in them
memories
its inhumane to do this
to build up those fears

existence is about
a better outlook
who knows what that death
does to a young mind
to me its inhumane
and to me there’s never gain
let innocence evolve
and let it find

its own level of passion
sin and terror
don’t introduce those
negatives, for we
might actually shock the system
that’s still not really ready
and they will live with what they saw
tucked away inside their memory

that’s no way to generate
in youngsters
respect and thoughtfulness
in fact, it may
drive them into being cruel
and unthinking
and honestly to me
thats not the way

compassion is a lesson
for our children
love for animals too
a way to go
killing them is definitely
a negative it gnaws away at
us, as well we know

So I think that Huntings is now
passed its sell by date
a ban would be a great way
to begin
respect for life with
love care and compassion
building in our hearts
and minds may win

a positive approach
to other species
to earthlings who all
have this place to share
its not for us to end life
but to preserve life
this the paradigm
of lasting care
