Wild Birds

The Crested Lark’s a shy bird
and its rather saddened by
The intensification of Farming
for our feathered friends now die
The Lesser Spotted Woodpecker
has seen a marked decline
The Partridge
faces doom and gloom
The Wheat ear sees the sign
The Nightingale that sang
in Berkeley Square it seems to me
The Turtle Dove, The Willow Tit
And the Lapwing we won’t see
Europe’s waving frantically at friends
now taking flight
Victims of Farming Practice
Which to my mind isn’t right
