The Vixen who knew the end was near

Those of you who leave your vile
contraptions hidden in our countryside
lack thought
;lack knowledge
you are arrogant and ignorant
and in your torrid emotions
you are caught
whatever you are after
locking snares have all been banned
and setting this one on or near
a fence, let’s understand
anything could have walked
into this and so today
we heard it was a vixen
and it broke her back
to pay
for walking in one’s countryside
in a place where you were born
is a ghastly thing to happen
and I treat it with such scorn
the mother clearly worried
for her cubs
no one knows where
but clearly waiting for her
unknowing of her despair
the injuries were terrible
she couldn’t have got far
she tried to chew the snare away
her mouth and gums did scar
she broke well almost all her teeth
her desperation too
free her self and save her cubs
something she could’t do
imagine how she felt about that
situation, she
clearly would have crawled
to where they were if she was free
but when rescuers released her
she passed out she was gone
and the cubs will probably perish too
in their earth somewhere upon
wherever
but the trapper he knows who he was
he knows what he was after
and now alas because
it is tragic story
we feel great tears of woe
and hope that karma catches
up with the trapper
