Bearded, sleek and powerful
Our friend the Bison, who
roams the realms of Yellowstone
and other landscapes too
6 feet, from hoof to shoulder
and can weigh some, 2 tonnes
The females average half that size
And the bold one runs
At 30mph, if the inclination’s there
Thoroughly protective of a mate
they do not share
They really like to wallow
and swallow chewed up cud
they do enjoy their mornings
groups of them, strong blood
between them, this involvement
shows great elements of care
Grazers with a difference
grass and sedge aware
they will supplement with lichens
and even berries, they
will use their head to clear fresh snow
yes clear it all away
To kill them for their meat
is cruel
Its not as if those who
Do this, are now starving
Its just profit that’s my view
Wild creatures need protection
From the ugliness of man
Who will slaughter everything on earth
Which he’s done since time began
The Bison has great spirit
And a serenity of mind
America, Protect them
This light has always shined
America Protect them
These giants of the field
slaughter them at your peril
For their lily you won’t gild
They are special
Long before, you men
spread yourself around
Heritage has saved them
That’s my judgement
and its sound
the wolf may take a few of them
that’s the order here
its generally the weaker ones
and that is very clear
the older ones
the injured one’s
the wolf will take them out
survival of the fittest
for that’s what life’s about
Good one Rex …. V-good. Blessings ..
thanks Susan
