Guard dogs need protection from the Winter

Those so called dogs
on guard duty
outside in the cold
chained inside a kennel
its confinement
100 fold

those companies
that do this
are heartless to be sure
to fight off
winters bite
at night
when all the world
is raw

they think because a dog
has hair
that’s enough and he
is used to being stuck outside
like deers, but it cannot be
they really cannot manage
they are not wild, and they
are not use to conditions
as harsh as those today

its purgatory for them
with raging snow outside
their water frozen
and no food
it cannot be denied
dogs must not be left there
bring them in and please ensure
they have recourse to somewhere dry
somewhere with a door
some rags perhaps some blankets
somewhere they can stay
and not left in some kennel
to shiver night and day

Pat them give them some warm food
look after them and let
them sit inside a shed somewhere
its awful to get wet
the frost then makes it hellish
and dogs will freeze there too
its cruel to treat the dogs like this
now whatever you do

Look after them for goodness sake
and they will serve you well
but if you leave
them stuck inside some kennel
it is Hell
and really what does that achieve
except to show us all
just how mean spirited you’ve become
and insensitively cruel
