89 Elephants slaughtered for their tusks(Ivory poachers)

Its clearly going on now
unabated
we see poachers getting in
and out elated
killing nearly 90 elephants
in a single night
and 35 were pregnant cows
the future don’t feel right

the terror that this must
have caused
the havoc of it all
then the ivory was hacked off
such evil would appal

evil men who have no
need to care
their desperate too
fulfil
their bloody orders and
clear off what a view

capable of anything
culpable of crime
against so many beautiful
beasts
intelligent no rhyme
or reason other than the quest
for ivory that they
clearly have a market for
with people who will pay

more than $2000 per kilo
that’s a lot of rice
one has to say
but clearly the new rich
in China have it
and want to have things
made of it today

illegal rings are clearly very
with it
its smuggled out as quick
as it can be
blind eyes clearly paid off by
whoever
the elephants peer into,
infinity

they won’t have long to wait
at this rate, people
at this rate elephants
will all be dead
lost souls to a terrible
sick culture
prepared to stoke the fire
and warm the bed

prepared to kill all elephants
whoever
pregnantt cows with babies
too in tow
35 of them last night were murdered
a debt which can’t be repaid as we know

the future’s looking grim
its seems the tactics work
for poachers everywhere they go
and as for people trying to save elephants
they don’t have the resources
that will grow

one has to stop
and feel for those
little souls
ready to be born inside their mums
clearly so excited and now sadly
so slighted
killed in brutal fashion
yes it numbs

any thinking
caring person, reading
our tears would fill the Nile
our hearts like drums
our breath so strong
might blow down half the forests
just thinking hard f all those
pregnant mums
