Rabbits go through it

Rabbits as a breed
are pretty hard done by I’d say
First Myxomatosis
and then stretched every way
for fur
for pies
for lucky rabbits feet
and of course now
for experiments in laboratories
which do not show us how

chemicals react for us
for tear ducts they dont possess
so squirting toothpaste in their eyes
only gives them stress
soreness, irritation
pain
yes they squirt all sorts of stuff
that smart again and again and again

Look at this poor little soul
stretched out on some bench
spreadeagled all four legs
tied up
what a darling wench
her little privates all in view
no one thinks to try and cover them
they operate
and she no doubt will die

to test some shit mascara
toothpaste, face cream
and
its done with out painkillers
don’t they understand?
supposedly they’re
human, sensitive and kind
but seemingly are monsters
ignorant and blind
a rabbit is a gentle soul
who wouldn’t hurt a fly
so in a nutshell we are sick
to make such angels die

to tests the corporate nonsense
for contracts near and far
for corporate tick boxes
for thats what most now are
doing dirty dastardly deeds to the darling Does
and Bucks they clearly get a share
of torture I suppose
