Don’t mess with cascada’s in Ecuador

The Cascada’s
splash and crash
and crush and rush
and tumble down
attracting
the prismatic light
and rainbows
and just drown

all viable
commitment
some vast
expanses we
melt water
cold and crisp
as cold
as it can be

listen to the
deafening
crescendo
hear its blast
the water running
everywhere
my god
its coming fast

and in its depths Piranha lurk
their teeth
likes spikes of bone
eyes like devils
are protruding
never swim alone

not here in dear old
Ecuador
where the jungles
rich and green
tie a person up in knots
not even a machine

can fight its way
through this great
tangle
for way ahead we hear
the greatest of cascada’s
blasting every ear

creating cream and froth
and slime
its sp slippery they say
its spray can throw you
backwards
if you are in its way

like some great
anaconda
your crushed
and mashed until
every semblance
of human kind
is lost and you just spill

into the raging torrent
to fill the stomachs, they
the piranha and the caiman
who are waiting and some pay
a price for getting too close
to cascada’s let me say
I can still hear
that vast chasm
as I was swept away

(fortunately for me I was rescued but many are lost)
