Moonlight and the Union

Back to the land of frost angels
who were out in force tonight
Apsley Loch looked purposefully enchanting
in the light
the moon smiled, her affection
for the goddess I adore
and the ethereal bling of starlight
had been worth waiting for
my darling and her palette, her artistry
on show
picked out in the moonlight
her extensions they did glow
the subtlety of violet, of red
and that wisp of gold
caressing the muddy tow path
like the beautiful queens of old
gently and so caringly she floated by my side
her sparkle warmed my body on her oxygen
I relied
for gazing at her aura
and feeling its warm glow
which melted all the ice upon
my windscreen, yes I know
we said goodbye, and parted
I had wanted to stay
but would have ended up a snowman
when she went away
a pizza for the wanderer
just back from eastern climes
back to share the darkness
with more ethereal rhymes
that festoon trees and foliage
on this November day
to warm the hearts of fairy folk
who dance the night away.
