Excitement, if your heartless
lassoing, its an art!
a rope tossed around the frightened legs

its obvious what happens
they trip and trap and fall
crashing down upon the earth
or up against a wall
broken bones are often
and ligaments torn through
how is this entertainment
what does it do for you?

we have to see
the coming Dawn
its clearly up there
are we seeing clearly
drinking ale and roasted
chunks of corn

its based around a macho
domination
cruelty can’t represent
a skill
it disregards all ethic
it is senseless
its debased behaviour
to instil
in people eyes and minds
an evil passion
and tragically so many
it does kill

America’s been at it
for an age it seems to me
Don’t talk about tradition
open your eyes and see
open your mind and think it through
how the hell can you
justify such treatment
and all that does accrue
