The Goddess

The Goddess
clad in black
a skin of ebony
of gossamer appearance
breathes sweet sighs
her boots strung tightly
giving her immense support
and a sparkle from both of
her gorgeous eyes
she offers much
and gives more
than is possible
her smile turns heads
and hearts for she can be
everything to everyone
the soul can have no doubt
one look is enough
and that’s the key
to stoke up the emotion
to emphasise a notion
which questions
the wild spirit
instantly

Tiny silver sequin’s
clasped her bodice
a tufted rose, hung
on her lapel
the goddess is concerned
about the sky and how its feeling
a tumultuous frustration
it doesn’t auger well
a darkness coming rapidly
upon us all
some unexpected anger
from on high
the trees are shaking
with a mild crescendo
something is afoot
but really why
she herself is shaking
from her expression there’s concern
darkness blots out all the light
and the rain now gets its turn
down it comes in torrents
crashing noisely
so sensitive, so sensitive so sensitive
was she
To see and feel that
anguish rise within her
to share that nervousness
a soul must see
and be ready to support
and summon all the love
he has, to comfort her
and help her
in her time of need
to be

there for her
