The poor Mustangs (inspired by films from Brass check TV tonight)

Over a million acres
of scrub land
where freedom was the order of the day
vast, a sky of truly huge
proportions
sweeps across the land
now come what may

and on this land are herds
of handsome mustangs
wild horses living where
they’ve always been
where they were born
they forage and they
are completely free
and very much part of this
wondrous scene

The BLM though
has a lot of pressure
and clearly feels the
pressure and allows
the ranchers and the
very powerful land owners
to get rid of the horses
so that cows

can graze and be
upon the land
its money, the C word
yea corruption just a few
leaning on the people who should
really remain strong
but the voiceless get the nudge
as oft they do

and so the contract
cowboys come and round them up
helicopters buzzing in the sky
frightening and chasing the wild
horses their slashing blades
create their will to fly

and so the mustangs are
led to the
corrals and afterwards
into the waiting trucks
to be carted off to somewhere
out of people gaze
and like the local people
well it SUCKS!

For centuries these wild
souls have been living there
Science once again is called to task
actually its money, I know its rather funny
how money seems to be there when they ask
but the Mustangs get the pressure
and end up in some farm
clearly not wild any more
and some subject to harm

the tax payers
stomp up some dosh
which the richer ranchers
get
money from the government
to look after them
its set
in stone the peoples money
goes round and round and does
not really help the Mustangs
but the ranchers feel the buzz
