Down and Foie gras all in one lifetime

Geese are so remarkable
they act as watch dogs, for
their owners they will gaggle
if there’s someone at the door
they make a great companion
they are sensitive, and can
be obedient and useful and ofcourse
I am a fan.
so it upsets me to realise that
certain farmers be
sometimes plucking their feathers
out wedged between their knee
head down, ripping feathers
denuding them no grace
no favours
its sadistic
and done at such a pace

piece rate for the workers
who do not care to be
careful, they just tear the skin
apart so brutally
Walmart and Ikea
seemingly appear
not sure if its live plucked or
dead plucked
but the fear
Is china does live plucking
such a barbaric way
of earning extra margin making
those poor geese pay
manhandling them
it breaks their wings
and legs
tears muscles too
for a week at least
they moan
Yes that is what they do
some are killed and some
go off
to the Foie Gras shed
after being tortured, for Down
they are then led
to suffer the indignity
of force feeding until
their livers get so full of fat
that it actually does kill
those poor geese have faced torture
from Day 1, and now they
have to now be tortured
until their dying day
bleeding its more agony
for geese who clearly are
as intelligent as the workers
for some of them now star
in what is real life drama
and they are the ones whose pain
and stress are suffered daily
and again and again and again
they star in this shock movie
that’s played out every day
supported by
the corporates and the odd
gourmet
Those Shops that play on
eclectic things high priced
high margin stuff
catering for the richer set
who don’t know
when enough’s enough.
