Chicks (inspired by my friend Peadar)

This is the fate
of those who must wait
huge numbers of chicks
and all of them males
with their beaks
and their tails
it is right off
the scales
really now how
we must fix
this culture of ours
of regression aggression
and we
crush them, alive
and not one will survive
so much mush in a can
there will be
used to feed pets
derivatives lets
mix it with crap
instantly
all of this karma
comes back to the farmer
and to the, consumers, too
the corporate factory
techniques are evil
and really
we must do what we
do
Protest its our way
on Face Book
each day
and tweet like a vulture
for we
live in a world
in which we
are curled
up in a ball
our backs to the wall
and helping them
will help us free
ourselves from the terror of
living
from the horrors
we see all around
hosting and posting
and providing the cover
helps everyone
