The problems with the people
in so much, that some feel
a garden must be tidy
and ship shape to appeal
measured lawns
great earth tracts
with no wild plants
in sight
its an arrogance once again
and one that I fight.
wild gardens are what
we need and we must learn
from Nature,the forests
how wildness does turn
such wondrous abundance
put there by the grace
of natural energies
a psychic embrace
vibrational energies
ties in, with our
the insects, the birds, the flora
each flower,
the wild plants
that some people have re named weeds
who have failed to identify
their special deeds
indications of balance
and imbalance too
of poor drainage
too dry, too alkaline
view
the aridness and to
just realize
wild plants we must value
is that a surprise?
Its a reason and man
with his ignorant flair
breaks his back
he began
with his poisons
unaware
to imbalance
the biosphere
he didn’t see
the huge pharmaceuticals
fallibility
for all is connected
connected do you hear?
we fail to remember
as kid’s when at school
we sang the great hymn
“all things bright
and beautiful
all things great and small
all things wise and wonderful
God made them all”
we forgot and we sprayed
and we dug it all in
the obnoxious stuff
what it said on the tin
was it killed everything
and would continue to kill
that is our debt
as their cries became shrill
as the bee’s and the butterflies
song birds and snails
slugs, yes they have a place
their path it fails
to register sadly, well that is until
the Bee’s start a dying
as surely they will
the ants and the ladybirds
each tiny soul
by our arrogant stance
and our ignorant role
for life in the garden
and the forest elsewhere
our lust for that paper
called money…… despair
I despair, for we must
inject wildness again
leave the wild plants to grow
there’s a reason
the rain,
the sunshine
the wind the life force
is why
every thing matters
under the sky
all are connected
all, everything
the cat and the dog and the birds
on the wing
killing and culling and trapping
it might
give some a buzz
but it bloody ain’t right!
