Preening for us is meaningful

For them there is an interlude
which cannnot be misconstrued
for all Primates enjoy the preen
about how relationships have been
The Orangutan, closer to man
than some men might admit
in the canopy
few men can see
the period to pit
one’s real imagination
one’s vital ego stream
one’s notional relation
perhaps one’s Primal scream
and a deeper understanding
so much the calming state
delving deep into the fur
of another just feels great
to the point of some elation
in creation, they evolve
its a period in context
which togetherness can solve
so many of life’s problems
the blatant acts that be
debated in seclusion in the
tallest stoutest tree
Orangutans must wonder
why the Man tribe does enslave
rip out vital trees and plants
and vehemently save
great areas for Palm Oil
the pre determined sin
the evocative admission
it gets under their skin
the complete ruination
of the living forest floor
the litter of the ancients
confounding every law
of Nature, every salient point
of each seasoned soul
whose realization happens
as great meanings they extol
a passion in the action
of reaction to this sin
the ultimate rejection
which seems to underpin
all the candid aura
surrounding life Today
and leave the Primates
wondering
why its them that have to pay
why some of the Man Tribe
imprison them
we free thinkers they
don’t feed us right
they just destroy our well being
and then turn our
days to night
shave and rape our females
chain us to some wall
feed us really rotten fruit
they just don’t care at all
we are the forest dwellers
the canopy is our place
putting us inside some cage
is a really big disgrace
cutting down the wondrous trees
that oxygenate the land
the litter was one amazing home
that you all don’t understand
the years of growth and progress
torn a’sunder by
the arrogance and ignorance
no wonder we preen and sigh
no wonder we use these periods
to endeavour in our way
to escape man’s horrid indifference
and to cogitate and say
we shall soon overcome, we shall
to preen hard is our way
of externalizing negatives
and bringing into play
a way of going forward
with profound thought and care
a togetherness of spirit
which all us primates share.
