Pepino the Dalmation Pelican (A story of his rescue and return to the wilds)

Ah! I’ve lost my bearings
I’m not sure where to go
I think that I’ve reached Urmia
I’m sort of in the flow
But now I’m in a garden
It isn’t a safe place
the people here are aggressive
raised voices, and his face
is bloated, very puffy eyes
It just does not feel good
I think he wants to sell
me in the market
so I should

get out of here, and quickly
the neighbour seems to be
a kinder looking gentle man
as far as I can see
and his face is smooth
and clear to me
He’s a vegan I believe
He does not see me as some food
but a friend, so to achieve
a haven in his arms
would be the thing, I need to go
For I need to get some primaries
in a month or so, they’ll grow
so I need to be looked after
get some nice fresh fish
and this man took me to his friend
and he gave me a dish
dogs and cats were all around
he looked after strays
but agreed that I could stay
around
for just about 10 days
and so he nursed me gently
fed me every day
looked after me just like a friend
and Lone Wolf, I heard him say

He’d take me off to Kaani Borazon
a place where Boars
ran about, a fine wetland
with gentle sloping shores
some really lovely tasty fish
the Perch, the Carp and Rudd
Eels and the odd Catfish
and small fry in the mud

He went away and left me
but I knew this place was wild
my instinct once again kicked in
I mean I’m not a child
I have the basic knowledge
and Yes, I can get by
and Wait now for my primaries to
grow, so I can fly

Then I can join some family birds
and migrate to beyond
perhaps to fly to India
with my kind, I can bond
It goes to show the man tribe
there’s different sorts around
some have bad vibrations
and some like Lone, I found
are gentle caring loving souls
who realize that we
are earthlings just like they are
except of course we be
eating fish and flying
and swimming in the sea

He called me his “Pepino”
these humans all have names
I mean I had to humour him
go along with his games
But Pelicans are royal birds
and Neptune is our king
The Albatross, and us Pelicans
have a real large span of wing
