a child was born
from its mother torn
she bled, I bled, We bled
half a brain no limbs to speak of
I should really have been dead
but inside me pumped a heart
as big as any
I had eyes ,and I could see
A wondrous sight
for 8 months in her body
she had carried me
her door she opened and
in streamed the light.
People paused pretending
not to look at me
the question was I human
on their lips
But I was just like them
except my father was a soldier
who went into the forest
on his trips
He lived down in those tunnels
The Americans were dropping
Agent Orange on them one and all
A defoliant as evil as any
ever made
And Vietnam was up against
the wall
The plants and trees all died
the reason being
the sick minds had decided
they should use
such a terrible substance
on the people
decided we were scum
they could abuse
He came back from the war
completely broken
his skin, his health
his body wracked with pain
Mother couldn’t believe
how much he’d altered
at night he shook he cried
as if it was plain
a man as strong as he had been
so damaged, by the fighting and
the evils yes the evils
he had seen
I was born and my
chromosomes were shot away
Agent Orange had its way
with me
my mother had 3 monsters
she was beside herself
2 had been put down
but I could see
the others didn’t look
at all like humans
so I was the exception
thankfully
half a brain
no limbs to speak of
Just a beating heart
Life for me seemed wonderful
would it end as it did start
I didn’t care
I was a soul now completely
in control
my faculties were complex
the dioxins saw to that
A deforestation herbicide
Yes! that was where I was at
My life was there before me
where the hell will I
end up, on some scrap heap
or tomorrow will I die
From America Land of the free
this evil substance fell
a concoction from the
Devils bowels
from deepest darkest hell.
All around there’s many
many worse than me
a nation giving birth
to creatures
the depravity
of nations
willing to use such vile
chemicals on a race
of other human beings
is a terrible disgrace
a crime against humanity
the ugliest of crime
Geneva don’t believe her
conventions there’s no rhyme
or reason there’s no ethic
war created men
who were morally so evil
History asks when
any other era spawned
such a devilish breed
and it would be hard to fine one
clearly such rotten seed
had flourished in that chosen place
a malnourished mutant strain
prepared to unleash a frenzied
kind of unbelievable pain
and so I please my mother
she’s wizened and she’s frail
father died really before he returned
He’s forever pale
not a quarter of the man
that left to fight those years before
eaten up[with cancer
and the brutality of War.
(Agent orange is now being used to clear land in Brazil to make way for more cattle more beef for the hungry carnivores)
