A Sea of Pigs

A Sea of Pigs
Before me
In vast dark
smelly sheds
What thoughts go
through
Each animal
Intheir also cavernous heads
The hell we put them through
must they
think badly of us
for the way
we so abuse
their time on earth
Their lives too clearly
had some worth

But commodities
just numbers they
Found themselves
forced to pay
I Billion animals
every year go through
this in the great UK
The market place
Filled up with those
who dream of profit
I suppose

Such naive brutes
in their white coats
Who smile whilst slitting
all their throats
The corporate few
who still accrue
Great wealth
But after more
Its makes no sense
when the expense
Is loaded on the poor

The evil so exacted
On the animals today
Everything is calculated
in every minute way
To satisfy shareholders
Unthinkable ordeals
Become a way of life
for some
that the camera reveals
Inseminated by the clumsily
by the corporate hand
And a pre arranged time
for death
The economic band
Is up and running purposefully
In abject pain their cries
ignored by those who consume them
So its comes as no surprise
45 billion animals are slaughtered
every year, our world of immense suffering
of shock and awe and fear
to house this colossal number
Vast tracts of Forest lost
Water has been tainted
But not part of the cost
The terrible pollution
The dead zones in the sea
The massive degradation
That is true insanity
