Lemon Balm

In Greece  Melissa means honey bee

The Lemon balm for me

a herb sold by apothacaries

a perennial growing free

wilder and most fragrant

the mint family a home

during Summer we see white flowers

nectar rich they be

any one whose keeping bees

rub their fragrance on the hive

and the bees will never leave your garden

it keeps them so alive

the new will come the old will stay

and merrily will they

love the nectar gathering

and do it everyday

feminine

ruled by the Moon

element Water, they

love and healing

and success

a tonic i can say

a stimulant a febrifuge

for nervous headaches too

excellent for the  memory

it just feels great and thats true

Goodbye to melancholia

In salads and tissanes

lovely essential  growing wild

in gardens  and its worth

looking after it a lot

its great to share the earth

with something green  and wonderful

and useful as can be

grow it with affection

and love it earnestly

Its good for gracious living

it feels  healthier when you

include it with some salad leaves

and make your dreams come true

its been around a long long time

never treat it like a weed

its officially a carer

and with it you will succeed
