Fracking under greenbelt land and forests

The absurdity and ineptitude
Of fracking
Of giving a green light
To corporates who
Care little for the environment
Thats the environment shared by many
Their energy is a negative
They do

Resent the people who would want
Our heritage
The green parks and the forests
Which our land
Needs we need that balance
We need those trees and plants
Something the government cannot understand

The vagary of political contributions
Its an energy thats powerful to those who
Receive this kind of energy that keeps their minds a racing
And clearly fracking friends do things for you
But wasting a resource like an old forest
Is preposterous and a silly thing to do
The area being priceless to so many
Compared to a ruination from the few

I cannot bear the buffoonery of government
With their dictums based on arrogance and who
Imagine that their brilliance and sagacity
Will keep them all on target good and true
Fracking is essentially a bad idea
Its costly to the people more so than
The frackers who protect themselves with
Statutes from their friends
As local sites and are sucked on down the pan

The roads around the sites will be congested
With tankers tearing up the roads and we
The ratepayers will be forced to bear the brunt of this
And the frackers get off amazingly yea tax free
The chancellor suddenly becomes a contortionist
Bending this way that way every flipping way
To accommodate the disaster all around us
And making sure the local people pay

Dissent we need it people need to wake up
Object a right we just have to apply
Sitting back and believing what they tell you
Will end up with a lot of tears to cry
America and Australia are suffering
Their precious air, their water and their land
The destruction of their forests of their countrysides
Which looking back most just don’t understand

Its not a case of understanding actually
Its short term profit for the true elite
They promise you the earth which doesn’t belong to them
And you will lose your shirt they have you beat
Insurances are not for your protection

And local people do not have a say

So the government you voted in are at it
Green parks forests you name it they
Can be all fracked under
Perhaps not on the surface

It makes no sense to do this

Who confide apparently
In a science that is so new to them

Its all about discovery

The horrendous waste of water

Another cost to bear
House prices falling rapidly

With interests rates soon rising
And prices falling foul
Of fracking in the district
Any wise old owl
Will tell you allowing fracking
Is not a good idea
So do not believe the tories
And I hope you hear

They will stick their drills all over

Consigned to a concrete frack pad
