The Limit for me (Aida at the Holiday Inn tonight)

To my mind tonight was too much for me
watching a singer
and thinking how she
can concentrate really
as she has to do
whilst children are running
about and all through
her line of sight and my line of sight
she singing her heart out
it cannot be right
The Holiday Inn
has got to accept
another location
for me to be swept
up in the noise of the
Football and screen
of kids running in and out
it is just mean
its terrible planning
and to my own mind
so disrespectful
of someone so kind
she stands there
and sings all sorts of songs
requests at the top of her voice
but these wrongs
to my mind will never get sorted until
the Hotel sorts a space out
and that space is, still
not part of some playground
kid’s running about
people close to the singer
in doubt
watching the football
and talking aloud
distracting the singer
and those in the crowd
for me I’m surprised that
anyone can
be so direspectful
for me the whole plan
of football and singing
is just so naive
and for me I feel sad
and for her well I grieve

Aida has talent
she loves what she does
she belts out her songs
and creates such a buzz
the Sirocco is made better
because she is there
but for me how its planned
proves that people don’t care
I leave this hotel
feeling sad in my heart
this is just poor planning
right from the start
have football
by all means
have a singer too
but put them together
thats not what you do
its wrong
and its sad
for me I feel bad
for the singer, for she
is worth more
honestly
