The forthcoming Badger Murders

The pilot cull of Badgers
will happen, so we hear
the police are keen
to tell us all
how sensitive
they appear
its clear they do
appreciate that
troubles going to brew
but the decision came from DEFRA
so they too have to do
policing at all the events
and will remain aloof
and independent
and for those who raise the roof
and break the law
arrests will follow
but the right is there
to protest peacefully
and basically to share

It isn’t right
in this day and age
to slaughter Badgers, they
are never guilty of all this
in the bright light of day
the farmers and their scientists
know this to be true
but now sit back and
watch Badgers get blamed
and killed
so few
people point their fingers
but Government says they
are guilty
so their guilty
and the guilty always pay

The voiceless become scapegoats
the farmers have the power
and the government caves in
the corporations tower
over every one of us
what they say it goes
so in Gloucestershire
its all happening
and will keep us on our toes

and mark my words dear people
after this event
cattle will get TB
and no one will be content
the farming lobby
realise the folly of their ways
the culling will be pointless
just another phase

just a lot of bluster
just a lot of news
wild animals will be murdered
yes the badger blues
will be sung around about’s
in hedgerows it will ring
feelings will be running high
arrests are bound to bring
bloodshed even possibly
the badgers they will bleed
the farmers will stay quiet I think
and no one will succeed
