Face to face with a killer

I cannot see his eyes
His soul though is not resident
Smothered in the rich red blood
And the enjoyment and content
The meanness of the murdering phase
Will be with me now all my days
An inflexibility
Brute force and might
And tyranny

Domineering a brutal lout
We can see what he is about
To get his pound of flesh he will
Wade into the bloody sea and kill
His expression shows no empathy
Just coercion by necessity

Look at his stance
A bloodied knife
He is conscripted to deny life
For the innocent whales
Who have done no harm
Who remained a force
So forever calm

Till they were driven to the coast
Where the Danish Navy they will boast
Subjugation for those who try
To save the whales
I wonder why
The Danish Navy should muscle in
And add to the Faroe’s world on sin

An island warrior thats his deed
A chance to kill and then to bleed
To stand his ground in the watery grave
Where the big whales come to try to save
Themselves from the loss of honour there
And of course are cut down in extreme despair

His face is gripped with a darkening stare
Cheerlessness occupies features there
A certain banality in his look
Imagining he will be brought to book

An unsightliness certainly no oil painting
Clearly repellent opponents fainting
Not fit to be seen in this bloodied state
Unseemly and ravaged up to this date

To disrespect is everywhere
It bursts out of him and we can share
The humiliation the aweless state
Clearly now he cannot wait
To get into another and another for he
Is out there killing in the sea
A pitiless soldier he has become
Neglecting his station and remaining numb

These are the typical islander men
Who live by their wits and rarely pen
Anything clearly about the whales
Except of course to cut off their tails
Their heads and bathe in the sticky blood
Drink it imagine the sinister flood
Of their own making of every thrust
Into the bodies of the good and just

On the shoulders of this man
A heavy weight
A disdainfulness and a lofty trait
A warm reception from bis wife and friends
Despite the message that he sends
We are unimpressed by his stature here
We are shocked to see him drenched in fear
His lack of conscience in our face
And his betrayal of the human race
