The Sport of Kings (though we don’t have wings)

The sport of Kings
I’ve heard it called
Racing horses
don’t be fooled
money that’s the draw of it
and horses, they supply a bit
Aintree marks
the hell of hells
over the fences
the higher it sells
the chance of
falling, and crushing bone
of riders hurt
and horses thrown
being made to leap
high, at speed
with all the risks
that come indeed
the riders get a princely sum
others they are just so dumb
the horses their intelligence
and guile may clear the highest fence
but then again a weakness may
throw the gait and chance away
its then potentially, a break
can occur, more horse steak
to get in pies around the place
Yes Racing them is a disgrace
