Ivory the trade in blood that leaves its trail across many continents

Ivory
the tusk of Elephants
a god form creation
they were granted this grand tool
for them
a true salvation
tragically men came along
with evil intent they
decided they could use this tusk
to carve and make it pay
but waiting for the elephants to
die appeared to be
far too long when man
could have them killed
so he could free
their tusks for his embellishments
and so it was that he
became a bloody murderer
of the elephant who be

stalwart in their service
but frail compared to man
a very sincere spirit
and somewhat of a fan
generous of nature
with a heartfelt wish to be
out there marching for the cause
but against his weaponry
they didn’t have an answer
the arrogance displayed
the selfishness that ruled his world
no matter how much each weighed
Ivory was blood itself
and many souls have died
the great tool man has stolen
which often he’s denied

stolen and used tragically
for ornamentation he
has wasted this true god form
throughout antiquity
he showed his vilest colours
and tragically we know
the Elephant has perished
in a senseless eerie glow
creation looks upon us
not in wonderment or joy
but in a strange derisive sense
our arrogance could destroy
not only all the elephants
but man un kind as well
whose ivory embellishments
may accompany him to Hell
