Pheasant Shooting

Sixty million non native pheasants
And Partridges each year
Into the British Countryside
Alive but have little fear
They strut about all cocky like
Get knocked down in the street
Are shot or wounded by arrogant shooters
With lead shot for their meat

It’s toxic lead they are using
Lots of birds lay dead shot down into rivers
into streams
Some are dead
others bleed out slowly
some are eaten too
The lead shot in the body
Is toxic there’s the clue

Shooters many rich
Still use lead because it’s cheap
They could also
use tungsten
and truthfully not reap
The horror that is lead
Upon the environment of today
All these birds imported to be wasted
My dismay

They roost up in the trees
But these french foreign birds
Walk about the countryside
I am lost for words
They are untrained and stupid
Some walk into cars
The handsome male a multi coloured chap
One of the stars

More than the weight of all wild birds
Are killed shot by these blokes
We should all ban pheasant shooting
These shooters yea they are jokes
They each pay quite a lot to shoot
With beaters frightening the birds
And as they fly of course they die
Yes I am lost for words

Bankers MP’s government bods
All sorts of arse holes who
Haven’t got anything better to do
With their miserable lives
It’s true
They come and shoot whatever flies
And pay for the pleasure it’s called
In fact it’s wholesale murder
These idiots were not schooled

In genuine respect for nature
Compassionless they be
Imagine a wild bird bleeding out in the darkness
You can see
Blood and now and toxic lead
Leaking into the stream
Where wild dress grows
And fish expose
The worst kind of dream

Stop these ignorant arse holes now
