Who is standing where?

The ancient woods have seen it all
Have heard each constant sad refrain
Bathed in sunlight on summer days
And seen the moonbeams through the rain

Produced each seasons leaves so green
The oxygen enrichment scene
CO2 their life giving gas
Where nests are encouraged
And built en masse

Where the wild folk live
And come to play
The insect world there everyday
Moss and fungi’s footprints they
Accompany the trees that sway

The litter rich with seeds and flowers
A space for lovers spending hours
Sadly hunter psycho souls
And the trapper evil ghouls

Vile contraptions and evil bows
And lead from shot
That no one knows

The eternal wood
A priceless place
Where faeries dance
And dryads race

Hares and badgers
Fox and deer
Expend their youth
And share their cheer

Tousled branches
Rolling hearts
Bark left curling
Ferns and parts

Of holly thorns
Green and there
Brambles wild
To catch and tear

Lovers boughs
Where picnics had
Where tree huggers
And the jilted
Sad

Cry below
Welcomed of course
To share their light
And dark
And reinforce

Sculptures of a natural kind
Frazzled ferns
And bracken bind
Imagine the faces
Here and there
And at night the eyes
All so aware

Of you my friend
Now standing there
