Gabreila Cowperthwaite and Blackfish

It takes a real endeavour to

set out to make a stand

to take on a corporation

who has the upper hand

who makes a lot of money

with its established  market place

Blackfish set out to do this

and did it at a pace

it took on the vast empire

and made the audience feel

what we saw was tragic

what we saw was real

the tears were never far away

from trainers from before

who realised what they had done

and how their hearts were sore

how they felt when seeing

Orca’;s in the wild

and truthfully

they then recalled

just how they had defiled

their freedom and their lives

to see them locked inside a tank

it has no doubt hurt Sea World

and its money in the bank

and for that no doubt the pressure

has grown inside those who

made this film and stuck by it

as you have to do

and to take the stick from people

who may not share the view

and always there are people

who are bloody clueless too

I take my hat off to her

she had courage to go on

a film maker of  e sincerity

who will be out upon

the ocean of significance

for what she has achieved

she hasn’t been nominated

but most now have believed

the reason behind that is of course

the corporate state will see

that people trying to knock them off the pedestal

won’t be

handed out the accolades

but clearly heartfelt plea’s

search into an audience

and receive the same reprise
