Consuming the dead

Life is a perfectly beautiful state
Animals born of the wildness create
A wonderful synergy
living where they were put
Eating from that vicinity
Being on foot

They studied the plant life
The seasonal fair
They exercised caution
And were aware
By trial and by error
And familial ways
The sun and the substance
All worthy of praise

Wholeness superior
A paramountcy
A good distribution
Nutritionally
Godly intention
Seasonally so
With organic standards
That do ebb and do flow

Foraging genuinely
Sees harmony
A freshness requisite
Traditionally
in tune with the seasons
A perpetual trait
Able and willing
To grow tHrough to fate
Absorbing the moisture
Organically
A true propagation
Renewal we see

Consuming what’s dead
Is a different idea
Carnivores generally
Experience fear
About preservation
Destruction decay
The violence that’s needed
And the savage display

Flesh will deteriorate
Spoil and degrade
Perish and mould
Decompose it may fade
And become hazardous
Endangering those
Eating it later
With warnings that pose

Significant worry
Shelf life concern
The addition of nitrates and nitrites
We learn
Such substances happen
A permanent thought
Adversity beckons
Severity sought

Dead flesh turning grey
Nitrosamines in town
To retain the naturalness
What’s going down
Fear base and risk
Nitrates and nitrites
Processing they
Are added to recipes
Every day

Truly they are toxic
Makers of food
Don’t always realise
What May exude
From a given mass
As the colour becomes
As red as fresh blood
And the suffering numbs

Such food is dangerous
Profits are high
Eating this crispy pork flesh
My question is why
Why are we so stupid
To eat food thats dead
A vile suppuration
Creating such dread
Animals murdered
Previously fed
On all sorts of unnatural foodstuffs
That lead
The animals down through the passage of time
Ending alas to a great out of slime.

This food causes cancer
Label it well
What gives the red colour
Is the chemical spell
It’s an awful component
And addition maybe
That’s more so cosmetic
Than really healthy
