They say charity begins at home but only if you are a farmer

A drought affects us all
And business suffers most
Anything to do with the land
Can drive profits to toast
Its not just drought if any major mishap
Does occur
Where cessation makes us suffer
And losses we incur

Where times are hard
All business takes a hit its true
But do we stand with our begging bowl
Expecting folk to do
The good thing fill our pot up
No we have to try
And get through all these hard times
Then we quietly have a cry

Farmers have an attitude
And the government of the day
Know the power of lobbyists
They are always in the way
Of scoundrels if the truth be known
Who are paid to suck up to
The all powerful when it comes to it
Doing what they do

If you are into cattle ranching
Assistance is on hand.
support ofcourse and charity
we are told to understand
Though everyone is suffering
The farmers they are seen
To be suffering much more terribly
I think that is mean!

Loss is loss its general
Average across the board
Everyone gives something
Whatever they can afford
General loss or average
An insurance term
But hand out to the farmers
It really makes me squirm

They all chose Their business
They get hand outs all the time
Any case that comes along
Whether they have a rhyme
Or reason derogations are
Given thats for sure
They always get the sympathy vote
And a whole lot more

They are in the killing trade
The ozone destroying creed
Their cattle damage the outback
Anti biotics and feed
Are plyed off by these farmers
It is a wasteful trade
Wasting vast amounts of water
On their heads its laid

Every moan is listened to
They even have the right
To shoot our beloved kangaroos
Gun them down on sight
Just because they are natives
They lose their rights to be
Alive and kicking and picking
Their place in eternity

Give a leg up and lend a hand
We all are asked to try
They work on splendid margins
4 by 4 ‘s and why
Those giving some dont have a car
But no matter give and give
The meat trade is the murder trade
Lets help the farmers live

The high life let them struggle
Everyone does that
We all go through the hard times
With no money on our mat
We just all tighten our belts a bit
Eat less and knuckle down
But the ranchers they are after
A magnanimous crown
From every wretched corner
So tHey can have their way.
So they can carry on murdering
The cattle day
By day

Poisoning the precious crops
Wasting water wide
So much to make a pound of beef
We are taken for a ride
There are better ways of producing
Protein thats for sure
But ranchers cannot see that
The truths they all ignore

Drought is down to nature
And man should stop and think
The water that we have on earth
We waste, some on the brink
Of disaster countries much worse off
Than Australia but we
Waste so much in our fracking
And farming industry

And then when theres a problem
Its a bail out and the poor
Are expected to be selfless
No one can ignore
The cries from out of the outback
The helicopter crowd
Their vast land resources
That really makes them proud

That gets them thinking live exports
And the contracts that are made
Thats another killing and its the torture trade
All the hand outs given freely
And where do the cattle go
Live exports added terror as the
Profit margins grow

But do we get a hand out
A share in all that wealth
We hear about the torturing
And the effects on the animals health
We hear about the terror the voyages into hell
Unfed and un watered and the unbelievable smell
Of animals cooked whilst standing
And this is what we do
As soon as we hear them moaning about the drought
Then all of you

Are expected to dive into pockets
To be their true mainstay
Forgetting all the negatives
That hang around each day
Just help them to top up their margins
And help us spread goodwill
Ahimsa, pitch in,chip in
To help them pay their bill
