A native of Hokkaido
Living in New York
A film director
Feeling the fallout
Off the fork
Of compatriots
And children
Having to eat whale
And hearing constant
Protests of Taiji
Which does derail
The truest objectivity
Of the culture of Japan
And tradition in remission
And the “cove” where it began
To clearly raise the hackles
Of those sensitive souls around the world
Who found themselves In a quandary
Feeling themselves hurled
Into a place of no regard
For cetaceans,big and small
Especially in Taiji
With the dolphin hunts
That call
The attention of the animals rights
Brigades now everywhere
Who watch the drive hunts
Feel the blood cries
And work through the despair
She is after seeing balance
With that statement all she sees
Is prejudice if you ask me
And therefore must appease
Those fishermen in Taiji
Show them in better light
Bring into the equation
The factor both are right
One should remember where she was born
They kill Dolphins too
The whaling in the southern ocean
And what the Japanese do
In the name of science
Has no bearing on this, they
Have skirted around the convention
And somehow got away
With murdering these wild souls
And receiving the wrath of those
Who know they are just bandits
As their whaling ship now shows
As to balance,we shall have to watch and clearly wait and see
But I can feel a whitewash
Where there should never be
Murdering the cetaceans with drive hunts
Is a sin
It is very evil
Their excuses they wore thin
Years ago, it’s murder or theft
Put up for sale
To the corporate world of slavery
That was always Bound to fail
The Seaworld’s and the aqua parks
Who pay a fortune to
The sick Taiji authorities
For the horror that they do
We have witnessed all the ugly scenes
20,000 dolphins killed
Around the coast of the rising sun
Where so much blood is spilled
She promises to balance out the fearsome
And the good
To cut through all the prejudice
Let’s watch
For watch we should
For me there is no reason to slaughter
As they do
There can be no valid excuse
It’s callousness right through
It’s brutality and malevolence
It’s extreme cruelty
Stealing wild souls from the ocean
Is malignant treachery
It’s rancorous disregard for life
For creation, for us all
So don’t talk to me of culture
Don’t erect a wall
That somehow gives you credence
To murder and to steal
The lives of innocent creatures
Who think who speak who feel
They feel so put down obviously
As many of us do
And I resent the murders
Whatever people do
Don’t go back into history
Of all countries. Japan
The combatants must realise
Only an all out ban
On whaling
And drive hunting
And kidnapping wild souls
To sell off to the corporate parks
In their performing roles
Will ever tip the balance
Will ever stop the pain
Films about the culture
To me are just insane
