The rig of stainless steel

It’s unimaginable wickedness
It’s devastating too
These great big rigs are reversing
And soon the truth comes through
Inside these vast enclosures are cows and calves
And they
Have a tiny port hole to inspect
The light of day

Their eyes are big and poignant
Sad and full of tears
This is truly horrible
Unpardonable their fears
Are evident before us
We peer into that space
It’s wicked and it’s brutal
It’s honestly a disgrace

The driver has a job to do
Its there before his eyes
Somehow he is detached from what he is doing
To realise
The pain for its significant
Upon the ungulate
The female spectrum suffers
What is to be their fate

Those eating meat lack conscience
They are detached as well
They leave it to the slaughter men
Who have to live with hell
Dispassionate and indifferent
To what now lies before
The killing and the murdering
And the all out stench of war

This is the new holocaust
So different from before
Here we see them slaughtered
Rapidly their gore
Is collected and deported in rendering
To be
Taken to another place
And turned into a key
Ingredient in pet food
This is what they do
All those sweet live cows
Who stood in fear
Are good and true

Now it’s guts and garters
Trachea’s and hide
And they all were innocent
The carnivores have lied
They tell themselves they need the protein
And cows just have to go
It’s the way we kill them
Frightening them so
We are very spiteful
Vindictive and hostile too
These are affectionate mothers
Who love a bit like you

So don’t malign their honour
Never take away
Their benevolence and their goodness
And their tenderness for they
Are mothers they have borne their calves
And had them stolen too
With all the worst intentions
It’s what the dairies

It’s become an irritation
An exasperation they
Suffer just like children
When their lives are lost they pay
Their nausea apparent
Disillusioned they
Wait with their hearts pounds
For they fear it is the day
The day they meet their maker
And argue with him why
He ever brought them to this hell
And all of them do cry
Reaching notoriety and abject ness
As they do
Indignant to the scandal
Demeaning through and through

It’s just a war of nerves for them
Goose flesh everywhere
The bogeyman he cometh
With his quiver of despair
They stand in trepidation
Panic stricken they
Jittery and jumpy
At why they are made to pay
Lead into the factory
To the sounds of cries of woe
To the smell of blood and thunder
It’s not where they want to go
But they are prodded and their tails pulled
They are kicked and frightened so
It’s ludicrous to imagine
That souls would never know

Of course they feel the anguish
They know what we will do
Besides the cries of others
It’s manner less and blue
It’s un picturesque and
It’s indelicate to see
The mutilated bodies
Forbidding tragically

Tear shedding no one notices
The querulous display
The doleful eyes of many
Who bemoan the day
The painful ness
The affliction
A contradiction too
Of how a mother should be treated
And rewarded for what they do

It’s intolerable behaviour
They are martyr’s everyone
Disenchanted by it all
What now have we done
Brought them to adversity
Harrowed on the rack
Condemned them to their crucifixion
And our vile attack

It’s total humiliation
That really hurts the soul
The aweless confrontation
In the light exists the troll
Who will cut their throats
And bleed them
That ghoul that cavalier
That outrageously insolent blackguard
Who cuts from ear to ear

As flashbacks come to vision
The indignation feels
It’s now too late to protest
Such disparagement reveals
A kind of saddened diatribe
And condemnation for
The carnivore who buys our bits
From the superstore

And justifies the murdering
The slaughter and it all
By wanting to feed their families
Who have an honest call
On who we are and why we are here
To be killed so you can eat
To exonerate your cravings
And liberate your heat

Our blameless ness is nothing
Our playfulness is seen
Our harmlessness is a virtue
Akin to some machine
You are not responsible
For how we are put away
You are above suspicion
As we reach judgement day
