Blackfish revisted

The height of arrogance

that is what Seaworld has become

looking at the victims

the Orca’s

and there’s some

killer whales

their emotional state

much deeper than those who

imagine they are human

which of course now Seaworld do

History comes back

and it must haunt you

Puget Sound

all those years before

the meanness and the cruelty

of taking those wild souls

of killing some

their basic feelings

Seaworld did ignore

the babies and the mothers

tried to get away

but bombs and planes and

seine nets took control

and lay

3  victims they were  filled with rocks

and sunken in the sea

every one of them

a feeling soul

who died so terribly

their bodies laden down with rocks

evidence of sin

it broke those perpetrators

and it did begin

to fester in their psyche

but not so for Sea World

they were too hard hearted

economically were hurled

into the corporate tangle

of figures margins, grief

they built on all that cruelty

it was a sick belief

that they were giving service

bringing to the fore

a unique understanding

of passion and of awe

but really that was unreal

the victims are those who

are captured and torn from their roots

for that is what we do

even those orca’s created

from captivity still they

have in built knowledge

that we smother

when we make them play

to our rules

in our measly tanks

starving them at will

torturing them

and hurting them

and seeing their blood spill

the raking and the breaking

of their spirits day on day

and the so called medical conditions

that we try to put their way

but it is in the psyche

and all know

Tilikum and all the others

Orca’s emotionally are charged

and that does grow

the accidents were there

and bound to happen

instead of embracing them

lies were told

denial whose on trial

successive cruelty

profit based on that

they all were sold

Its them or us

and they are of course captors

any excuse seems plausible

to make

clearly they are much better in the ocean

than in a concrete tank

we are the fake

control to think

our arrogance has value

we give so much to them

what we took away

was everything and we give them back

a fraction, of what we in a nutshell

let them pay

the price was far too much

for loss of freedom

the pod environment

is their whole regard

each has their own language

and own life style

and any such involvement

is real hard

The Orca’s suffer

despite what Seaworld’s doing

their pools are dead

their food is dead

and they

split up from their families

from the wildness that is their’s

kills them just a little bit

each day

the floppy fin

the raking wounds

are evident

the boredom

these are creatures

drenched in life

removing them from the ocean

what’s the effing notion

it only breeds in them

that extra strife

and trainers what an ignorant suggestion

these animals are intelligent

and they

dont need young  people

to supposedly mentor them

they’ve forgotten more than

Seaworld can even pay

attention it is crucial

that we understand

Killer Whales have purpose

they are there

not to swim about in soupy little tanks

and somersault in a world

of pure despair

this was never ever to be their purpose

they are apex predators and they

are balanced till we steal them from

their families

then and only then yes we do pay

we pay for being wholly bloody arrogant

these  higher souls can teach us so much

but we

imagine we are doing them a favour

making  them into our slaves

tragically
