Greenpeace and its crew of the Arctic Sunrise

Its makes no sense no sense at all
to arrest these 30 souls
to frighten them by charging them
and exerting such controls
on them and on their vessel
its a violence they don’t need
they gave their hearts and minds
to try and save
the Arctic feed
we know from past experiences
spills have come and gone
the Caspian the Gulf of course
the risks go on and on
to delve into the Arctic depths
this pristine place of white
and create new drilling platforms there
where the ice and winds do bite
is asking for such woeful trouble
and all they did was say
Gazprom and Shell be careful
what you do out in the bay

they are never pirates
they are angels who
sacrificed their freedom
to come and talk to you
to tell the Russian people
that the oil and gas could cost
vast amounts of money
and the arctic could be lost
its animals could be slaughtered
by the great onslaught of oil
and to treat them as you have
well it makes my blood boil

they were just a band of angels
offering the earth
a period of contemplation
it was of great worth
and you have deemed to capture them
and threaten them and say
no bail for any of you
you will rot here come what may
if anyone is evil its you lot
for what you do
is try to end the hope and inner strength
that still is true

and thats a crime in actuality
its misguided and I’d say
free them all hear my call
free them all TODAY
