Sacrificing Kangaroos for commercial greed

Australia its evident
its a selfish point
of view
to murder those iconic souls
the wondrous Kangaroo
and not feel sick inside
yourselves
or even contemplate
mass slaughter just how dreadful
it is and at a rate

I
having travelled the length and
breadth of your huge continent
to see
into this vile scenario
I was forced to be
vast desolated areas
devoid of wild life seem
to conjure up such feelings
of a quite nightmarish dream

The Kangaroo, is Australia
life in the bush meant they
took it on themselves to live
they were put there and they pay
for the ignorance and arrogance
of the human un kind tribe
who slaughter them in their thousands
and then try to describe

their feelings and their reasons
their prejudice some see
but inside the great Australians
accept that it has to be
of course they hadn’t thought it through
in the cities they live in fear
Kangaroo’s are in the Bush
and the bush we have to clear

fracking backing oil men
to dig into our shale
to pull out all that natural gas
I mean we must not fail
the cities are expanding
we need our country homes
the kangaroos are bloody nuisance
on them already tomes

there’s always those who
haven’t got a clue about the place
who make the big decisions
and that is a disgrace
Australia must remember
what a resource they are
kill them at your peril
for you yourself now scar

the land that’s called Australia
for littered everywhere
we see the bodies of those souls
that prove some do not care
to remember where your place is
and why you must protect
the iconic one and really
not be circumspect

show courage in the face
of what is pure and simply those
corporation giants
whose power of course it grows
putting pressure really
on the clutter of the few
what is seen as viable
and really what to do

I urge you to think on this
each Australian must say
what you are now losing
is really not the way
sacrificing wild life
for a perceived wealth is sad
of course there are no benefits
the whole damn thing is mad
