We learn to use the skin of animal earthlings
some realise the error of their ways
I haven’t worn a leather belt or leather shoes for 40 years
Wearing vegan shoes it always pays
The majority wear leather though they think its smart
Dead skin draped about them they will not part
That some poor cow was slaughtered in the process they don’t care
That its skin was torn off whilst it hung up on a hook, aware
Of what the man below it was then doing
The abject agony of that slow death
When you just tear a small strip from off a finger
You know how sore that is you hold your breath
That poor cow and the millions that are slaughtered and have this torture done to them each day
Its beyond words and no sentient creature should ever put up with this
So human beings can look in the mirror and say
Don’t I look a treat in my new Jacket
or doesn’t these new shoes look really cool
In fact when you consider what you are wearing
Personally I think your a bloody fool
Cruelty is what the trade is all about
the animals gets short shrift as you can see
The workers mostly poor Indian women
working in the awful tannery
Stand up to their waists, in the most obnoxious chemicals and die for sure before their 35
The chemicals then spew into the rivers into where people live and won’t survive.
Don’t you look just wondderful in your new skirt
And doesn’t that new handbag look a treat
and that new sofa sitting in the living room
I’m sorry to say its as bad as eating meat.
