Namibia and beyond

There they stand
all clad in blue
With huge great sticks
The crazy crew
baby seals
still nursing, get
smashed their
milk is spilt
and yet
it happens
time and time again
pups cut open
pain, such pain
it must be awful to watch
them shake
suffering
constantly
still awake
at the hands
of butchers who
believe
they have
the right now to

retrieve
their souls
I’m sorry they
are gone
and my friends
on Judgement day
Hell is where
you will end
upon the furnace
of despair
you, violent sod’s
your death
we’ll share
Remember this
and be aware
cutting their throats
and watching their milk
spew forth
from dying throats
manhandled onto trucks
closer to becoming coats
for rich hags it seems are queuing
in Sydney and elsewhere
great streams of blood
run through the sand
seen by the folk
who care
mass die off’s now
seem out of hand
But all seem
unaware
imagine any seal alive
would rather die than
to survive
all this torture
and all this death
it is, no way
to relinquish breath
