“Sydney”

By a dry stone wall
A cloud of flies
And one small dog
Really lying motionless
Just another cog
In the great big world of animals
Lying in the street
Who nobody takes any notice of
Just lying soaking up the heat

“Sydney” one such doggie
He wouldn’t take any food
He wasn’t really moving
Just a laid back dude
But around his backside
Area
Were loads and loads of flies
And we observed an awful wound
And then could realise

He must have just been suffering
His hind legs paralysed
We carried him to hospital
And hoped to stabilise
He was very friendly
But clearly in some pain
He couldn’t walk at all in fact
When we tried him again

It took about two weeks
Of trial and error
Gaining strength and confidence as well
His spine was really weak
But what he did was seek
attention love and caring
We could tell

Basically a really splendid animal
It wasn’t long before he was running around
Playing with the ladies
He seemed to love them so
Really enjoying his freedom
So we found.

Again you see it’s healing
Here Comes the caring” stance
Of gently nursing &cuddling
It all does enhance
The experience the process
And Sydney found it so
Everything went right to plan
And he is home now as you know.
