Nobody’s thinking straight anymore

When you are flogging dead deer and dead cattle too
Dealing in meat seems a great thing to do
You actually kill them watch them drop dead
From a very well aimed shot straight to their head
That’s when you know what you did was just right
Blasted their life force into the night
Possibly heard as they chortled and screamed
Consigned to a place where nobody dreamed
Where all of the animals agony was
Lost in this vacuum forever because
That has been what has been happening they
Have suffered so much and so much they did pay
It’s a loathing in fact that we have in effect
It’s hostile and unfriendly for us to elect
This kind of enmity, that I detect.

The dolphin their families are socially graced
With a fondness for company never misplaced
They have a fellowship within their pod
And are gregarious finding their god
Finding their instinct,finding their way
In many ways much more advanced I should say
They give without taking their love it is shared
They run with each other and of course they get scared
They have a deep loyalty and can pursue
And do captivate us and enchant us too

Some of us have a revulsion it seems
A detestation and many teams
Are set up to capture them, and torture them too
Which I think is nauseous what about you?
To hate them is ugly to eat them is mad
For they are now loaded with contaminants
How sad
For us and for them for they surely would not
Poison consumers who they love a lot

I do take offence at what fisherman do
Taiji is infamous and that is true
They talk up the killings as culture for they
Have limited culture that much I can say
They won’t accept that but we have to be
Cogent and careful and make them see
How much indignation they do cause and we
Must help them to help themselves
Help them to try
To seek out humanity with a strong eye

Slaughtering thousands and committing much more
To a life of pure slavery well, I am sure
This is not what the dolphins do earnestly need
It is much more than this to be just left to bleed
In the cove where the coral sea turns into blood
They find themselves intolerant to the flood
The vengeance the victimisation of source
It’s as though a reprisal would try to force
A ruthless retort from the supreme source

What is right what is fitting
What is normality
And what is just wrong
What is illegality
Is under the tarpaulins
The shrieks and the blood
It wafts over the waves
In a great crimson flood

It’s a violation infringing their right
An abdication deriving them light
Unsanctioned unlicensed
Unworthy for they
Had, a code of honour
And morals should play
A part in all dealings
Incumbent to say
It is casuistical and more so
Each day
