Take me to the land
\nof faery
\nthe other worlds and realms
\nto where
\nthere is no sun or moon
\nto speak of
\nbut there is just the sweetest of air
\nmade up of sweet fragrant blossoms
\nthe perfumes from the stamens heart
\neverything is amplified there
\nand much more potent from the start<\/p>\n
lets wander through the bracken
\nnever slacken as we go
\nmy little yellow butterfly
\nshe’s the star in the show
\nher wings are fine and silky
\nlike buttercups that hue
\nshe dances and she prances
\nand take chances as you do<\/p>\n
she likes the warm sweet liquor
\nwhich she lifts into her lips
\nshe seems so very carefree
\nbut then now as she sips
\nI see her life force growing
\nshe is showing
\nme such grace
\nthats when she settles on my hair
\nand looks into my face<\/p>\n
she has the tiniest little eyes
\nbut meets my earnest gaze
\nshe has a smile we smile a while
\nand I must say, in all my days
\nthis thrill of being close to her
\nand she so close to me
\nis perilously amazing
\nits just so hard to be<\/p>\n
anywhere thereafter
\nas I watch her fly till she
\ndisappears completely
\nit seems she couldn’t be
\nanywhere I know that she was there
\nbut somehow she
\nhas the power to perhaps
\ncreate another odyssey <\/p>\n
project her herself
\nback back in time
\nto the land of the Cherokee
\nwhere the women clad in their cotton
\nclothes worked the great country
\ntore the trees with their simple tools
\nand grew the corn and carved
\nthe implements for tanning skinning
\nfor first people never starved
\nthey grew they were a proud race
\ntrue to their heart they stayed
\nable to remain aloof
\nto the white man’s stock in trade <\/p>\n
the saffron butterflies
\nare really faeries in repose
\nthey visit those of us
\nfor the great book we never close
\nwe appreciate our ancestors
\nfor they prepared the way
\nand the butterfly is clearly
